C.1890-1900 8 day Mayer gilt cherub clock with French urn styling.Porcelain Roman numeral face with new black ornate hands. Decorative trim surrounds the face with cherubs either side. Double springs for winding with attached new key,no chime.
The interior of the top urn is copper,the inside of the door with small broken latch taped to the door is patterned brass. The remainder of the clock has been painted with gilt gold paint over the years,probably originally brass over copper.
Has been professionally cleaned, new bushings added and adjusted. Works wonderfully,gaining approximately 5 minutes in 24 hours. Minor adjustment should correct upon arrival. Minor wear to paint as seen otherwise excellent condition. Handsome addition to any mantel,chest or table.
