C.1890-1900 8 day Mayer gilt cherub clock with French urn styling. Porcelain Roman numeral face with new black ornate hands. Decorative trim surrounds the face with cherubs either side. Double springs for winding with attached new key, no chime. The interior of the top urn is copper, the inside of the door r is patterned brass. The tiny latch to hold shut was broken many years prior. Remainder of the clock has been painted with gilt gold paint over the years, probably brass over copper.
Has been professionally cleaned and new bushings added. Minor adjustment will probably be needed upon arrival as with any clock that has been shipped. Works wonderfully, gaining approximately 5 minutes in 24 hours.
Minor wear to paint as seen otherwise excellent condition. Handsome addition to any mantel chest or table.
Measures 14 X 6.75 L X 6.75 D.
