C.1850 French trumeau wooden mirror in original antique cream painted wide frame with two additional interior smaller frames. Handsome carved header of thick shield and tied carved bow surrounded by acanthus leaf garland and carved swags below. Wonderful tones to the aged paint.
Original mirror with small minor silvering loss as seen on right,yet reflects nicely. Hand painted oil on canvas upper section depicts a wooded scene with a single male figure walking the woodland pathway. Painting is highly detailed. Four very tiny holes in the canvas on left side as seen in the photos. Appear brown,blending into the tree trunks as backed well with wood backing and extra wooden support structure. The remainder of canvas in fine condition.
Mirror alone is 18 L X 25.5 H.
