Italian occasional chair from the early 1900's has a medium blonde tone finish of paint/stain. Gilt carved leaf garland and large urn seen on the back header and sides. Decorative urn panel in the center back and rosette carving on the arms.
Additional carvings in gilt at the knees with incised rosette carvings surrounding the apron on all sides. Newly upholstered linen seat which has been re-built,padded and webbed creating a very comfortable piece. Black and cream gemp around the bottom of the seat. The word Italy is incised on the underside of the apron.
Finish in extremely good condition with very minor wear. One tiny spot of glue at the gemp line in the back. Many years prior the left front leg was broken on the back or inside of the leg and repaired using screws for a very stable piece.
Measures 36 H X 22 L X 19.5 D. Seat is 17 inches from the floor.
