This book, Geraldine Belinda is quite interesting. Authored by Marguerite Henry, illustrated by Gladys R. Blackwood and published by The Platte & Munk Co., Inc. New York, NY. Date of publications 1942. Vignette of "Buy United States War Bonds" on rear dust jacket flap and would makes it a WWII wartime edition. A great children's book touching on the subject of teaching the value of sharing. Pastedown illustration to red cloth front board. Dust jacket is very good with some light stains to front, staining to upper rear of jacket and a few small scattered closed tears. Red cloth front board very good, however, pastedown illustration has some red water staining to upper and lower portion of pastedown. Rear board very good. The staining bleeds through to the edges of the front illustrated end page and bottom of text block also shows some light red staining as does very bottom edge of title page and last 3 story pages. Otherwise, story pages are clean and bright and all pages are French fold with one of the French fold pages cut at the outside edge.. Full page and in-text illustrations can be found on every page and are colorful and clean. Birthday inscription to 2nd front blank end page and dated 1944. Overall a decent copy of an very interesting wartime period children's story with no loose or missing pages and binding is tight.
Measurement is 7 3/4" x 6". Unpaginated (no page numbers) with 28 story pages as called for.
