This scarce first edition is both illustrated and signed on half title page by Hungarian born illustrator, Willy Pogany (B: August, 1882-D: July, 1955). First printing with latch spelled "lalch" in the poem, Crosspatch. One of the most outstanding editions of Mother Goose with many full page and half-page color illustrations as well as black & white illustrations by Pogany. This book is clean with gilded lettering and decorations to blue cloth hard covers and spine covering. Top edge of text block is also gilded. This book is in near fine condition with very few issues. Boards are clean with minor corner tip wear and spine covering clean and clear with some edge wear at top and bottom spine ends.
