A beautiful set of 24 chromolithograph trade cards with beautiful color images on front of cards of Spanish women with their fans, framed below with flowers. Spanish text at back of cards. This complete series of Victorian Spanish trade cards may have been issued as promotional pieces by the famed Fargas Chocolate shop in the Placa del Pi; one of the oldest and most traditional chocolate shops in barcelona. Each card shows a different image of a woman holding a fan and the fan is being held in a different position on each card with an explanation of the image on the front at bottom of card. Chocolate advertising trade cards and playing cards were popular in Barcelona beginning in 1885 an would often include symbols of various models and products. I could not show all cards since the there is a limit on the number of photographs, however, they are all in very nice condition. There are a couple with very minor chips at top of cards. However, considering the age of these cards, I believe you could not find a nicer looking complete set as these.
Height of cards is 5 1/4" and width is 2 7/8"
