This sweet turn of the century purse was made by Whiting and Davis. It features a soldered gold mesh pouch with a solid, flower engraved frame and tapered chain fringe. The unusual frame has a ring that runs on an open bar. The rings are attached to the braided mesh handle. When the rings are at the bottom, the purse opens. When you are holding the purse by the handle, the rings rise to the top and keep the purse closed. There is also a lovely round sapphire clasp at the top. This delicate purse is in excellent condition with all the chain tassels complete and all the rings attached around the frame.
The purse has three markings: Whiting and Davis Co Soldered Mesh Pat'd July 22 1913
This lovely purse measures 8" in length, not including the handle. Then handle adds 5 1/2". The frame is 3" at its widest point.
This is an exceptional Whiting and Davis purse. Perfect for a gift, wedding or to add to your purse collection.
