This sweet little box purse features a gold box base with an open work design. The lid and handle of this childs box purse is made of rootbeer colored lucite. The collectible purse has a fold-over clasp and lucite bottom. The bottom is marked "Parmart Brooklyn, NY USA". This early plastic purse dates from the 1950s and could have had a matching "mother's" purse so a little girl could dress up just like her mom.
This child's lucite box purse measures approximately 5" long by 3" deep and stands 3 1/8" tall not including the handle. The lucite handle adds an additional 3 1/2". This vintage purse is in very good, used condition. It has minimal scuffing on the lid but there is one 1/2" spot that has reacted to something and has a "bubbling" effect as well as a small 1/4" mark of white. A previous owner has scratched her name, "SYLVIA" lightly on the bottom and there is a "ring" that appears to be etched on the bottom. The clasp has some discoloration that may be cleaned but I will leave that to the next owner. The interior is clean but there is light scuffing from use.
Any little girl would be pleased with this as a gift or a great piece to add to your collection.
