The Lone Ranger & Tonto" board game by Warren Paper Products. The game is based on the characters from the "Lone Ranger" television show which ran from 1949 to 1957. The box lid reads, "A game about the masked man and his Indian companion who bring law & order to the Old West". The object of the game is the be the first Lone Ranger and Tonto to match the Outlaw to the appropriate Location and Evil Deed. This roll and move game is similar in tactics to Clue in which players are pitted against each other to solve a crime. The game instructions are printed on the box insert.
There are "location" cards, "evil deed" cards and "outlaw" cards. Included are Red, green, blue and yellow Lone Ranger and Tonto playing pieces. The objective is to collect a set of three cards that are part of a sequence (as indicated on the cards).
This vintage game has a bright and wonderfully illustrated board with a red background and yellow trim. The board has a great Western theme picturing "Durango Bank", "Tombstone, Arizona", "Deadman's Gulch" and "Red River Valley" at its center. "Rattlesnake Canyon" and "Tumbleweed Prairie" are on the corners.
This game is complete and is in very good vintage condition. The board is clean and unmarked, the cards are all present as are the playing pieces. The box has three corners taped with tears and there is light bumping at the corners. The colors are bright and the game complete. The box measures 17" x 9 1/2" and weighs approximately 1 pound 12 oz.
A great vintage game to play or display in your Western themed cabin.
