A sweet girl stands barefoot offering an unseen by-passer a basket of violets. The scene is set in an Art Nouveau background accented with blue garlands and pink ribbons. The oval frame and corners of this salesman's sample calendar are die cut to give the embossed piece depth. The yellow background is dotted with patel violets and an Art Nouveau design made to look like the scene is suspended from a chain hanging from a wall.
Salesman's would present various sizes and styles of artwork for a business owner to choose from. An advertising calendar would then be attached to the calendar or backing board. These promotional calendars would then be given out to customers for the coming year.
This vintage ephemera piece has a hole at the top for a ribbon or string. The wall hanging measures approximately 16 1/2 inches tall and 8 3/4 inches wide. This vintage print is marked "Printed in Germany" with the number 11204 on the bottom corners. It is in very good vintage condition. There is some staining and spotting on the yellow background at the bottom and top (see photos). The die-cuts are intact and undamaged. The back is unmarked.
A lovely vintage advertising piece perfect for a gift or to frame and hang in any home decor.
