This bubble cut Barbie was produced by the Mattel Toy Company. Called a Bubblecut Barbie because of her fashionable swirling hairdo. Mattel produced these Barbies from 1961 until 1967. There were many combinations of hair color, lipstick color and eyeliner color. This Barbie dates from 1962 and has watermelon lips and baby blue eyes with just a hint of blue eye shadow above dark painted mascara eyelids.
This fashionable vintage doll comes dressed in the Barbie Career Girl outfit number 954 which was produced from 1963-1964. It features a black and white tweed jacket, pencil skirt with a matching tweed hat adorned with a black ribbon and red rose. Underneath the jacket is a red body blouse.
This desirable vintage doll is in very good condition. The nail polish on the hands is en excellent condition and toes is in good condition. Her face is unmarked and her pain is unblemished. She does have a brown marking on her left ear from the original earrings but she isn't currently wearing earrings. She is marked "Barbie r Pats Pend c MCMLVIII By Mattel Inc."
The outfit is in very good condition with complete black buttons and only a little bit of fraying at the jacket's sleeve ends and a bit of fraying along the right bodice dart. There is a small brown mark on the back of the jacket which may be removable with a little cleaning. The jacket has the "Barbie R C By Mattel" label.
