Both the author and illustrator have signed this soft cover book published to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the Donner Party's travel across America. "The Donner Party Chronicles--A Day by Dy Account of a Doomed Wagon Train 1846 - 1847" was written by Frank Mullen Jr. and contains photographs by Marilyn Newton. The text gives a day-by-day account of the struggle for survival as the party traveled from Independence, Missouri to Stutter's Fort, California.
The book contains wonderful historical photographs as well as current photographs of the terrain. Also included are illustrations of the tools and maps and reproductions of artwork of the party and the times. This work is compiled from a year-long newspaper series published in the Reno Gazette-Journal. It contains not only an index but also index of the people in the Donner Party and a bibliography.
The book is in good vintage condition.It has some light bumping on the corners. The pages are clean and the binding is tight.
