This yellow kitchen scale was made by the Hanson Company in the 1940's. It is model 1308 and measure pounds, ounces, cups of butter or shortening, and kilograms. It is marked with the Hanson crest, it was made in Chicago before they used zip codes and is marked "copyright 1948 by Hanson Scale Company". The yellow plastic base is bright and cheery. The silvertone scale bed is adjustable with a knob to zero out anything you might be putting on the scale to hold the items to be weighed.
This bright vintage scale is in good condition with some scuffing of the front panel where the measurement categories are printed. It is accurate but the knob may need a little WD-40. The back has two screws and there is a pressure crack between them (see photos) but it does not effect the use or stability of the piece and is strictly cosmetic.
A fun piece to cheer up any kitchen.
