"American Defense Battles Punch Out Book" was published by Merrill Publishing and copyrighted 1940. The unused military toy book was illustrated by George Trimmer. The covers as well as the inside pages are heavy cardboard with brilliantly colored illustrations. Air Force, Marines, Army, Navy, Cavalry and even Air Troopers are pictured with great accuracy. Every boy during this era played "Army" and would have loved a toy like this.

Each punch out piece has a caption:
Anti-aircraft guns go into action"
General observing maneuvers
Tank Sergeant speeds to headquarters on a motorcycle
Giant bomber opens attack as submarine rises to surface
...and many more

I count 36 images in all that can be punched out and folded to stand up and make military scenes.

This collectible World War II era book is in excellent, unused condition. All the punch outs are intact. There is some very minor scuffing along the cover's edges and there is a small bit paper missing from last few pages which does not affect the punch outs in any way. This vintage book will be shipped with a stiff cardboard backing and mailed Media Mail unless otherwise requested.

An amazing vintage military toy. This would make a great gift for any military collector or for someone retiring from the military.
