"Come Play With Corally Crothers", was written and illustrated by Romney Gay. This is the second in the Corally series. This vintage children's book was published Grosset & Dunlap and copyrighted in 1943 by Phyllis Bricher and was designed and produced by Artists and Writers Guild, Inc.
This delightful picture book is complete with its dust jacket. The inside flap reads, "Corally Crothers, "who had no sisters nor any brothers," returns in this engaging picture book. Small children will take sheer delight in Corally's challenge to see if they can do all the things she can do. An there's one of Romney Gay's surprise picture which is sure to appeal." (the "secret" is the last page which has a fold over illustration of a tree with Corally hiding behind it when the flap is opened.)
The hard cover book has illustrated end-papers and is in very good vintage condition. The red, illustrated board cover has some very mild bumping and with minimal scuffing along the edges. The front, right side of the end papers has a previous owner's name and address stamped in blue. The illustrated cover is clean and bright. The binding is tight and the pages are clean with the exception of some rust where an old paper clip was holding someone's place. The rust is only on the title and dedication pages but there is a slight indent from it on the first illustrated page (see photos).
The dust jacket is in good/fair condition. There is scuffing along the edges as well as some tears on both the front and the back along the edges (see photos). The book measures approximately 7 1/4 inches square and will be shipped First Class Mail unless otherwise requested.
This is a harder to find book in the series. A perfect gift for a children's book collector or to add to your own library.
