"Supposin'" was written by Betty Baxter and illustrated by Carrie Dudley. This adorable, vintage children's book was published by P F Volland company and is part of their Sunny Book series. This sweet book is a first edition and is copyrighted 1931. The book tells the tail of two little girls who are playing a game of "supposin'" as they pretend to be various characters, animals and more.
The book begins:
Now two wee girls, with ringlet curls
And both so cute and sweet,
Just love to play their farite game
Upon a garden seat;
They'll sit and laugh and giggle there,
And have a lot of fun;
"supposin'" is the game they play,
And this is how it's done:
From pirates, to growing long beards; having wings to being fish -- this delightful book has beautiful illustrations both full page as well as accents throughout.
This vintage book has illustrated board covers with a black cloth spine. The book is in good/fair condition with wear to the edges of the cover and some light marking on one page. Several of the pages have tears along the binding edges and some small tears along the bottom of the page. None of the ripping seems to be affecting the illustrations. There is a long tear on the left side of the back end-paper. The binding is tight but has a little bit of a wobble. The book measures approximately 7 1/2 inches by 6 inches and will be shipped First Class mail unless otherwise requested.
This is a hard-to-find, out of print children's book that is very collectible.
I accept all major credit cards for domestic orders. International buyers must use Pay Pal. I am happy to ship this internationally.
