"Mathew Brady Historian With A Camera" was written by James D Horan with picture collation by Gertrude Horan. This Bonanza book was published in 1955 and details the life of one of the first photographic historians, "Mathew Brady". Brady was a pioneer in the art of photography from its infancy. He was a major contributor to the photographic history we have of the civil war. Photographing President Lincoln many times. He also chronicled the birth of the railway system and was one of the first photographer to explore the western US.
This vintage photography book is 244 pages in length and has a complete bibliography, pictorial bibliography of Brady pictures and full index. It has gray board covers with a red cloth spine. The dust jacket is not present. There is some soiling and bumping of the corners on the covers and some spotting on the back end paper. The last few pages have some chipping and there is a small amount of spotting visible on the ends of the pages when the book is closed. The inside pages are clean and minimally yellowed and the binding is tight. The book measures approximately 12 1/4 inches by 9 inches and will be shipped Media Mail unless otherwise requested.
