This lovely Art Deco era Valentine's Day card stands up and features a red honeycomb, fold-out heart. The floral design is accented with Cupid sitting atop the heart with a banner reading, "For My Valentine". A small heart extends from the honeycomb reads, "Loving Greetings". Two fold out extensions allow the card to stand on a flat surface. The card is marked on the back, "Beistle Trade Mark Made In USA Patent No 1616568". The Beistle Company was founded in 1900 by Martin Luther Beistle in the basement of his home near Pittsburgh for the production of small imprints and calendars.
This vintage card measures approximately 9 inches by 8 3/4 inches and is in good vintage condition. The red honeycomb paper has faded with age and there is some foxing visible when the honeycomb heart is closed. The Cupid has a crease where it is jointed with the rest of the card and there is some minor scuffing and bumping on the corners. The back has a pencil inscription "To Nedra Farmer" and "From Oren Cady" written on one of the extensions. It will be packaged with a stiff cardboard backing and shipped First Class Mail unless otherwise requested.
An adorable vintage greeting card for giving to your sweetheart or an exceptional card to add to your vintage card collection.
