"My Very Own Fairy Stories" was written and illustrated by Johnny Gruelle (beloved author of the Raggedy Ann stories). Copyrighted in 1949 by The Johnny Gruelle Company, this adorable children's book has amazing illustrations of fairies, gnomes, princesses, animals and much more.
The illustrations are in both full color and black and white. Just about every page has an illustration of one type or another and all of them are stunning.
Johnny Gruelle first began publishing books with the Volland Publishing Company where he made his fame with the Raggedy Ann and Andy Stories. Volland published some of the most beautifully illustrated childrens' books in the 1920s but unfortunately went out of business due to the high cost of the quality of their printing. Johnny Gruelle then bought his own copyrights for the Raggeday Ann books and other notable titles.
This compilation of children's stories includes:

The Kind Hearted Ginger Bread Man
The Ugly Caterpillar
Jimmy Crow and the Owls
The Good Finger Fairies
