"The Year-Book Of The Heart - A Calendar Of Sentiment" was compiled by Margaret Montgomery and published by P F Volland & Co. This Art Deco era calendar comes in its original box and has a red cord for hanging.
The book contains a poem by famous and not so well known poets for each day of the year. Some are quite long, while others may only be a line or two.
JANUARY 29TH The motto of chivalry is also the motto of wisdom. to serve all, but love only one. --Balzac
NOVEMBER 10TH Oh, sovereign power of Love! O, grief! O, balm! All records, saving thine, come cool and calm And shadow, through the mist of passed years. For others, good or bad, hatred and tears Have become indolent; but touching thine, One sigh doth echo, one poor sob doth pine, One kiss brings honey dew from buried days. --Keats
Each page is gorgeously bordered with an orange and black floral, Art Deco frame. The book's cover has a beautiful gold, blue, green, purple, red and pink floral illustration.
This vintage calendar is in very good condition. The box is in good/fair condition. The box has a piece missing on the left side of the cover and soiling, tears and lifting on the top. The book has a small crease on the bottom right corner of the cover and an inscription on the title page. The red tassel of the chord has some minor wear but the cord itself is intact and usable to hang the calendar.
The book measures approximately 11 inches by 5 1/2 inches and will be shipped Media Mail unless otherwise requested.
This calendar of love would be a perfect anniversary gift, wedding gift or birthday gift for your sweetheart.
