"Little Sunny Stories" was written and illustrated by Johnny Gruelle. Copyrighted in 191 by the Volland Company it was published by M A Donohue & Co. This first edition, hard cover children's book has amazing full color illustrations by Mr. Gruelle, who was the inspirational writer and illustrator of the famous Raggedy Ann Doll stories. Black and white illustrations are also dotted throughout the book.
The illustrated end papers show children walking and playing on a rainbow with fairies accompanying them.
A poem reads: Where children tread - a rainbow glows; Where children breathe - zephyr blows; Where children laugh - a flower grows; Where children sing - a sunbeam sows.

"Sunny Books" were a series of children's literature published at the turn of the century. Johnny Gruelle was responsible for the series and went on to make Volland Publishing a well known children's publisher for his Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy series.
This wonderful vintage kids book has red cloth cover with black titles and illustration. The book is in excellent vintage condition. There is a little bit of bumping on the cover's corners and a spot of white along the right edge. The inside pages are clean with the exception of one smudge on the bottom of the 6th page and the remnants of a sticker on the right inside end paper. This collectible book measures 7 1/2 inches by 6 1/4 inches and will be shipped First Class Mail unless otherwise requested.
