"The Wilding Princess" was written by Frances Margaret Fox and illustrated by John Edward Perkins. This rare and highly collectible children's book was published by Volland Publishing and copyrighted 1929. Complete with its dust jacket, this amazing kid's book tells the story of the King and Queen of Forgotten Land. While the King and Queen are off doing their own thing their daughter, Princess buttercup, grows up among seven nurses and ten pages following her own sweet will. When the "Warlike Kings of Roundabout" come with their gentle manners, it takes the court Magician to straighten things out. The adventures of Princess Buttercup are beautifully illustrated with ten full color, full page plates. Each text page is adorned with a black and white border of the kingdom's castle turrets.
This children's literature book is in very good vintage condition. The end papers are brilliantly illustrated, the pages are clean and the binding is tight. The dust jacket is in fair condition and has a mylar cover on it to protect it from any further damage. There is tearing and chipping along the edges as well as some fading and light soiling (see photos). The book measures 8 1/2 inches by 6 1/4 inches and will be shipped Priority Mail unless otherwise requested.
