Each page has brightly colored illustrations for a matching rhyme on each of the ten pages as well as the back cover.

Ruth Newton was an artist during the early part of the century through the 1970s. She produced greeting cards and advertisements before beginning her career as a children's book illustrator. During the 1920s, the Whitman Publishing Company offered Newton a contract to illustrate children’s books. Over the next twenty years, she illustrated over 40 titles for Whitman, including The Night Before Christmas, Mother Goose, Kittens and Puppies, and Peter Rabbit.
This vintage kids book measures approximately 13 inches by 9 1/2 inches and is in very good condition. The colors are bright and the pages clean. There is a small 1/2 inch tear on the right side of the front cover. There is some very minor scuffing along the book's edges.
