"Pennsylvania Beautiful" was written by Wallace Nutting and published by Garden City Publishing copyrighted 1935. This collectible book contains black and white illustrations by Wallace Nutting of churches, notable buildings throughout Pennsylvania as well as tools and utensils used by Pennsylvanian's throughout history. Black and white photographs of landscapes in all the counties in Pennsylvania are printed on glossy paper throughout the book.
This is part of the "States Beautiful Series" Wallace Nutting produced in the 1930s and 1940s. Wallace Nutting was a U.S. minister, photographer, artist, and antiquarian, who is most famous for his landscape photos of New England. He also was an accomplished author, lecturer, furniture maker, antiques expert and collector.
This vintage travel book has tan cloth covers with a brown illustration on the front cover. The collectible book is in good+ condition. The black and white photos are intact and in good condition. The pages are clean and the binding is tight. There is a pencil inscription on the title page and some staining on the font and back hinges that appear to be from the glue used in the binding process. The cover has some mild soiling as does the spine. The corners are lightly bumped. The book measures approximately 10 inches by 7 inches and will be shipped Media Mail unless otherwise requested.
