"Healthful Living Fundamental Facts About Food And Feeding", was published by the Battle Creek Food Company. This vintage 1930s vintage recipe book is also an advertising pamphlet for the products and beliefs of John Harvey Kellogg (products we still use today known as the Kellogg Food Company). John Harvey Kellogg was a health enthusiast and ahead of his time. He founded The Battle Creek Sanitarium in Battle Creek, Michigan, as a health resort based on the health principles advocated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church of which he was associated.
Included in this advertising pamphlet are chapters entitled: What's The Matter With The American Diet? Origin of Battle Creek Foods Battle Creek Sanitarium Health Foods Food Values How To Eat For Health, Strength and Efficiency Fundamental Facts About Food and Feeding Successful Diets For Specific Ailments Reducing Weight Comfortably Constipation Cured Without Drugs The Intestinal Flora -- What Is It? What's Wrong With It? Exercise For Good Health Price List
This eating health pamphlet is 64 pages in length and contains photographs of Kellogg products as well as black and white and full color illustrations throughout. The vintage advertising is fun and the eating healthy tips are as pertinent today as they were in the 1930s. The soft-cover pamphlet is in good/fair condition with some scuffing and chipping on the cover as well as as some creases on some pages. The staple binding is intact but the there is some tearing around the staples.
A great piece of history for the foodie, health enthusiast or cookbook collector alike.
