"Duel In The Sun" was a 1946 epic Western film directed by King Vidor, produced and written by David O. Selznick. This book is the novel from which the movie was based. Written by Niven Busch, the movie tells the story of a Mestiza (half-Native American) girl who goes to live with her Caucasian relatives, becoming involved in prejudice and forbidden love. The movie starred Jennifer Jones, Joseph Cotten, Gregory Peck, Lillian Gish, and Lionel Barrymore.
This stated first printing is dated 1946. It is a Forum Book Motion Picture Edition. The book is illustrated throughout with black and white photographs from the technicolor film.
This hard cover book is in very good condition. it has brown cloth covers with the "Forum Books" logo on the front in red and gold. The cover has some scuffing and bumping at the corners and the top and bottom of the spine. The inside pages are clean and the binding is tight. There is a previous owner's name written in ink on the first page.
A great book for a Western collector or movie buff.
