Pioneering designers including Coco Chanel and Issey Miyake as well as influential photographers such as Richard Avedon and Helmut Newton are included in this over-sized art book. The book is easy to use and filled with inspirational images,. It is an A-Z guide to 500 clothes and accessory designer, photographers, models and those iconic individuals who instigated or symbolize a whole fashion movement. Rene Lacoste sits opposite Christian Lacroix while Kate Moss rubs shoulders with Theirry Mugler. Each entry is illustrated with a photograph or drawing which shows a quintessential aspect of their work. An accompanying text describes where they fit into the fashion story and includes essential biographical information about the creator. In addition, The Fashion book uses a comprehensive cross-referencing system and glossary which explain the many collaborations and techniques used in fashion, that singular business which lives somewhere between art and commerce.
This 512 page book is an extensive study in fashion design, modeling and production. The over-sized book has its original dust jacket and is in excellent condition. The dust jacket is in very good condition with some mild soiling and discoloration along the top edge and a small hole near the "T" in the title (see photo 1). The pages of the book are clean, the colors bright and the binding is tight. This hefty book comes in at 7 lbs in weight. Unless otherwise requested, it will be sent media mail.
