Published by Platt & Munk, this amazing vintage children's book, copyrighted 1933, contains eight stories including "Little Black Sambo". Bright, full color illustrations accompany each story as well as whimsical ink and pen illustrations.

This hard cover, oversized book is in very good vintage condition. The blue cloth cover's have a paste-down illustration. The cover is in good/fair condition with bumping at the corners and shelf wear at the top and bottom of the spine. There is some staining on the top right corner and some lifting of the cover's illustration along the top and bottom right corners. The inside of the book is in good+ condition. The pages are clean and the binding is tight. There is minimal yellowing of the interior pages.
Eulalie Minfred Banks lived from 1895 to 1999. She was a notable illustrator of many delightful children's books. Born in a southeastern suburb of London, England, she started her career in drawing at the age of 12 designing Christmas cards. After her move in later years to southern California, she also became known for creating murals in various buildings, both private and public, in the Los Angeles area. Her work included a mural at the Santa Monica Public Library, which has since been razed.
