"Little Faces From Far Places" was written and illustrated by Julia Nordell. This rare and hard-to-find children's book is also a paper doll book. Published and copyrighted in 1933 by Grosset and Dunlap, this sweet doll book tells the story of Joanna who is traveling on a world cruise. As Joanna stops at ports throughout the world, she meets and plays with children of other lands. Each chapter starts with a paper doll page the reader can cut out. It features the children, outfits and accessories of the land that chapter describes. The text then expands the story for the reader to act out with the dolls.

The first page, "Joanna Herself" has been cut out and only two outfits remain. All the other paper doll pages, however, are intact and uncut. The cover of the book has a small oval cut out where Joanna peers out through a porthole.
The book has black cloth spines with a paste down illustration on the front and back covers. The book is in good vintage condition with some light scuffing on the the front and back covers along the edges. Beside the one cut out paper doll page, the pages are clean and uncut and the binding is tight.
An unusual and lovely book for the paper doll collector, children's book collector or child. Fun for playing with or just displaying.
