"Gasoline Alley" was an early newspaper comic strip by Frank O King. This collection of his strips was published in 1929 by The Reilly and Lee Company. In the introduction, Mr. King writes I hope my audience will get a measure of interest and fun out of these pictures. I had pleasure in drawing them. It is a privilege to be the master of destinies, and director of every urge and event in the lives of such a group of folks." Avery, Bill, Walt and the whole Gasoline Alley gang are depicted in black and white drawings throughout the book.
This vintage book is in fair condition. It has an illustrated board cover and some lifting and substantial scuffing and bumping at the corners. The binding is tight. Two of the pages have been lovingly (and carefully) colored in with crayon. The inside front cover has a house drawing in pencil and the back cover has numbers written in pencil. The last blank page has been torn out of the book but it was not a page of drawings. The back cover has considerable pencil marking and doodling. There is light yellowing of the paper. The price reflects the condition of the book
A fun book to add to your comic strip collection or give as a gift to the mechanic in your life.
