Red Cloud is pictured on the front of this vintage writing tablet. The illustration shows this Sioux chief in red, black and white. A caption below the picture reads:
RED CLOUD Red Cloud, a Sioux chief, has been called one of America's great men. He suffered only one defeat -- at the Battle of the Wagon Boxes when 48 soldiers barricaded behind wagons head off thousands of Indians. After this he ceased fighting and signed a lasting treaty.
There is a smaller illustration at the bottom of the pad showing soldiers shooting at Native Americans on horseback.
This unused writing tablet is in pristine condition with a tight binding at the top and unused lined pages. The western themed stationary measures 8" x 10" and has a black paper tape binding at the top.
