Eulalie's full name is Eulalie Minfred Banks (1895–1999). She was a well known illustrator of children's books from the time she was very young. Born in a London, England, she started her career at the age of 12 designing Christmas cards. As an adult she moved to southern California where she painted murals in various buildings in the Los Angeles area. Her work included a mural at the Santa Monica Public Library which unfortunately is no longer there.
Robert Louis Stevenson's "A Child's Garden of Verses" is one of the most well-known and well published children's books. This vintage book is in good vintage condition. The inside of the book is clean. There is one page four pages from the end that has a tear and lifting (it may have been a factory flaw). The back end paper has been torn out of the book. A previous owner (a small owner it appears) has written his name in green crayon on the title page. This is very faint and may possibly be removed, although I will leave that up to the next owner.
The book has blue cloth covers with a paste down illustration and yellow titles. The cover has bumping and scuffing on the edges. The binding and spine are tight and intact. The book measures approximately 10 1/4" x 8" and weighs 1 pound 12 ounces.
