"A Time To Keep The Tasha Tudor Book Of Holidays" was written and illustrated by the phenomenal illustrator Tasha Tudor. This fun children's book describes traditional holiday celebrations throughout the year in a New England household. Filled with Ms. Tudor's trademark Corgi dogs and cherub children, this vintage illustrated book was published in 1979 by Rand McNally and Company. This is a first edition, fourth printing.
Month by month, Tasha Tudor's exquisite illustrations bring to life the holidays of an earlier time. Candle-lit rooms, family party suppers, children playing with marionette dolls, and a maypoll. Throughout the book there are beautiful full page color plates, many with elaborate flower border decorations. The book is arranged by months and lovingly describes in pictures and words the celebrations for each time of year--from January's New Year's doings to a Christmas Night celebration.
This book is in very good vintage condition. It has illustrated board covers and measures 12" x 9 1/4". It has some very, very mild bumping on the cover's edges. Otherwise, this book looks like it just came from the publisher with clean pages and a tight binding. The book weighs approximately 1 pound 9 ounces.
A charming book to read aloud at bedtime or story time or to add to your illustrated childrens' book collection.
