"The Great Cars" a history of automobiles was written by Ralph Stein with photographs by Tom Burnside. This great coffee table book is full of full color, sepia and black and white photos of vintage cars. Contents include chapters on "What Made Them Great" as well as automobile modes for Invicta, Talbot-Lago, Lanchester, Hispano-Suiza, Alfa Romeo, Vauxhall, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Duesenberg, Frazer Nach, Cord, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Simplex, Bugatti, Mercer, MG, Jaguar, Stutz, Delage, Lincoln, Isotta-Franschini, Packard, Lancia and Aston Martin.
Each model is paired with text of the car company's history and the men who designed them. This 251 page over-sized book has bright red cloth covers with a gilded embossed title. It does not have a dust jacket. The vintage photography book is in very good condition with some light fraying at the very tip of the cover's right bottom corner. The pages are clean and the binding is tight. The book measures 11 3/4" x 8 1/2" and weighs approximately 3 pounds 10 ounces.
