"Ikenobo School of Japanese Floral Art", was "compiled" by T Nishimura and published by the Ikenobo Floral Art Institute in Kyoto, Japan. This stated first edition vintage art book was published in 1951 and features cream faux-leather-covered boards and gilt spine and cover lettering. There are four color frontispiece plates; two are tipped-in color prints. The book is filled with both color plates and black and white illustrations and photographs.
This vintage book explains and exemplifies the Ikenobo thought of flower arrangement. It is part of Japanese heritage and does a wonderful job at detailing the history and practice of the floral arrangement art.
This vintage art book is in good condition with some light soiling on the front cover and some edge wear at the crease. The binding is tight and the pages are clean. There is an original price label from the Ikenobo School of Japanese Floral Art on the inside back cover.
