"English Choctaw Dictionary" was published by the Oklahoma City Council of Choctaws. This is the Sixth Edition published in 1976.
The paperback book contains photographs and statements about prominent Choctaws in the area. The Forward by Will T. Nelson reads, "The Oklahoma City Council of Choctaws asked me to help assemble, provide pictures, arrange materials, and assist them in the publication of a Choctaw Dictionary. Most of this information is taken from "A Dictionary of the Choctaw Language by Cyrus Byington." It was published by the Government Printing Office in Washington D.C. in 1915."
The dictionary has the English word listed first and the similar Choctaw word listed after it.
The book has light blue paper covers with a photograph of David Gardner on the front. The book is in good vintage condition with a chip out of the bottom right corner (see photos) and a tear of the cover along the bottom left of the spine. The pages are clean and the binding is tight.
An out of print book with amazing United States and Native American history.
