"Mary Gay Stories" was written by Stella Boothe, RN and Olive J. Carter, AM with drawings by Anne Cooper. It was published by The Educational Book Co., Limited and copyrighted 1930. It is a moralistic story of Mary Gay and her adventures in the land of fairies and dragons when she doesn't do what her parent's need her to do. "...the fairies had chosen Mary Gay for their each-child....they too were sad when she failed to do the things she ought to do". Mary Gay has adventures with dragons, fairies and other creatures including elves.
The book has wonderful black and white illustrations throughout. The interesting thing about this book is that it was bound incorrectly. The pages are upside down and backwards from the cover. This vintage book has decorative cloth covers illustrated with vegetables marching beneath the balcony of Mary Gay.
The book is in good vintage condition with some soiling and scuffing on the front cover. The pages are clean and the binding is tight. A rare book with an even rarer layout.
