"At The Sign of the Rolling Pin" is a collection of recipes put together by Vassar College students, alumni and friends to raise money for the school's endowment fund. This vintage cook book is full of wonderful and hard to come by recipes. Headings are titled, "The Domestic Rolling Pin", The Foreign Rolling Pin" and the "The Remarkable Rolling Pin".
There are some recipes I've never seen before for things such as "Grape Catsup" and "Japanese Pop-Corn Balls" as well as old favorites like Mince Pie and Lace Cookies.
This fabulous vintage cook-book has grey cloth covers with red titles. Cute little pen & ink drawings are scattered throughout at the head of chapter pages. The binding is a little loose but the pages are clean except for the odd check mark next to a recipe or two denoting a favorite. This book has obviously been well loved as it has soiling and tag remnants on the cover. The inside, however, is a treasure and not to be judged by its cover! :)
Don't miss out on this hard to come by book with recipes that will keep you on your toes.
