Look Magazine dated May 9, 1939 features Eleanor Holm in a swimsuit and gold shoes on the cover. She and Sally Rand were feuding as to who was the best personality at the New York and San Francisco World's Fairs.
Articles include: Hitler and Nazis on Religion, Art, Women Strange Case of Babe Ruth Why King George VI is Visiting American The Kentucky Derby Skirt Lengths from 1925 to 1939 Art For Everybody (highlighting the Federal Art Project of the WPA) ...and much more.
Black and white photographs with every article. This vintage magazine features great advertisements as well, for newly Dentyne Gum, Lysol and full color Lucky Strikes on the back. Great historical photography throughout.
Magazine is in good condition with minimally yellowed pages and a tight binding. LOOK and the date on the cover have been colored in with pencil (see photo 1) but may be able to be erased. (I will leave this up to the next owner). A good gift or reading copy.
