Hazel Atlas Big Top Peanut Butter Sherbet Glasses Set Of 4.
This vintage set of 4 footed sherbet glasses are made in a heavy pressed glass diamond and fan pattern by Hazel Atlas with a starburst design on the bottom of the base. During the late 1950s-60s, Big Top Peanut Butter sold them filled with peanut butter with a snap-off lid. They became known as Peanut Butter Glass afterwards and many people still refer to them that way. My Mom bought them one piece at a time at the grocery in the early 1960s until we had a set of 8 and we typically used them for ice cream or pudding.
Each sherbet glass is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. All glass is crystal clear.
Each piece measures 3-3/4-inches tall with a 3-1/2-inches diameter opening; capacity is 8 fluid ounces. Very collectible and very useful!
