Incense Burner or Censer Hammered Aluminum Made in India.

This unique vintage hammered aluminum incense burner or censer is shaped into a round pot and features a perforated lid with a prism-shaped Lucite knob handle. It has a twisted aluminum and brass rope-like handle that is set on each side by matching brackets that allow the handle to swing freely. Pot has a flat bottom.

All around the body of the pot is an intricate band of hammered designs in a row of leaves with tiny squares in between each leaf. The lid has a matching design in its center under the screw-attached knob and has decorative holes and uniquely shaped perforations to allow the incense smoke to escape and fill the air. The hammered work on this piece is exquisite!

A label reading, “Read directions and caution inside pot prior to use” and “Made in India” This is printed in English and the same phrases are printed under it in French.

In excellent vintage condition with some outside surface wear; this doesn’t detract from its beauty or use. Inside condition is clean and has evidence of previous owner’s use and slight oxidization.

Measures 5-1/4-inches high with lid on; 3-5/8-inches without lid. Pot opening measures 4-1/4-inches. With twisted aluminum handle raised, overall height is 7 inches.
