Primitive 19th Century Butter Crock Brown and Tan Stoneware Pottery.
Handsome, primitive antique, round stoneware crock with a ridged lip that made it easy to tie a cloth across the top with a string or rubber band as they did back on the farm in the 1800’s. Glazed crock is dark brown inside and on the top portion of the outside with tan/off white on bottom half; bottom side and top rim are unglazed.
In excellent condition with no cracks or crazing. There is one small place along the bottom edge where the glazing is missing. Considering its age, it’s actually in near mint condition.
Measures 3-3/4 inches tall and is 5-3/4 inches diameter.
