This vintage full color postcard is titled, "NN-137 - Aerial View of Newport News, Va. on Hampton Roads". Also marked "Photo VA. State Chamber" in lower left corner of front, and "9A-H1519" in lower right corner of front. In excellent condition with no surface wear; slight darkening on white border from age; nice coloring on the scenic view.

Divided back reads, "This view shows Newport News and its relationship to Hampton Roads. Just off Newport News to Hampton Roads was fought the first naval battle of history between the Merrimac (or the Virginia) and the Monitor."
