This charming Eighth Grade school book, published by American Book Company in 1931 is titled, "Fact and Story Readers, Eight Year - First Half" and is a collection of youth / children's literature arranged in sections by several authors, including George W. Gray, Robert Louis Stevenson, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Charles Dickens, Washington Irving, and Rudyard Kipling. The book contains several black and white illustrations that are scattered through out the book and a full color illustration in the front of a ship burning from the story, "Youth" by Joseph Conrad. The book is gray colored with green print on front with an illustration of a train and a school bus, and is in very good condition with only slightly loose binding, bumped corners, and slight wear on the hardback linen covers. All 242 inside pages are clean and have little to no wear. Previous owner has a short description on the inside cover written in pencil but there is no other writing in the book.Great vintage book for your collection...lots of good reading in this one too!
