Farmers Pocket Notebooks 1940-50s Royster, AGRICO, Griffith and Boyd Company. Here is a grouping of small, MINT condition, all unused, pocket-size farmer's memo books from 3 of the leading fertilizer manufacturers during the 1940-50's - Royster, Griffith & Boyd Co., and AGRICO. Local farm supply stores gave these little books to their customers as promotional items. The books have cardboard covers and measure about 5-1/2" long x 3" wide and have blank lined pages for note taking, plus all sorts of interesting information on farming, measurement tables, tips on planting crops, feeding livestock, etc., along with advertisements for fertilizer. Two of the books, the 1949 AGRICO and the 1956 Royster, each have a calendar on the inside back cover also. (Note: My scanner didn't do well on the calendars - they are actually very clear). These are unique and wonderful collectibles for those into vintage farm items and advertising collectors as well. I remember my Grandfather always having a similar one tucked in a pocket of his overalls with a small pencil. 3 small treasures for 1 price!
