These two antique photographs are actually Real Photo Postcards with undivided backs. The undivided backs of the postcards support the dates of these photos as being taken in the very early 1900's; probably between 1900 to 1907. These cards are being sold together as the children are siblings.
Many photographs of Catherine and her brother Hugh were acquired at the same time which benefited in having access to their names and dates and the ability to put them on somewhat of a time line. (Most have sold). Other Victorian photographs of these young siblings are still available in this shop and can be seen by searching Catherine and / or Hugh.
These photographs are rather light in appearance compared to other actual photographs available but these "Real Photo Postcards" were quite the rage and a good way to mail a photographs of your loved ones. The oval pictures were printed on off white postcard stock paper. The off white cards are tanned with age.
