This 1950's teenage fashion doll is Baby Ginnette and Ginny's bigger sister; Jill. Jill is marked on her back with her name, a 1957 copyright and "Vogue Doll, Inc. Made in USA." Her red and white polka dot pajamas and scarf print robe are like new! She has her black leotard, white undies, and pretty pink polka dot dress as part of her wardrobe.
Jill is a 10 1/2" bent knee walker and was advertised as an "action doll." Jill can sit, stand, walk and even appear to run. Her arms move up and down and her sleep eyes open and close. This brunette Jill remains in very beautiful condition! She has two swinging Rhinestone Earrings and a barrette in each side of her dark brown hair. She has beautiful dark blue sleep eyes that need to be gently reminded to close when she lays down. Her skin coloring and facial features are Excellent. She has no stains. Her angel cut hair has maintained much of its original style and is fully intact. Jill's head turns as she walks. Her knees are a bit stiff but do bend with patient assistance. Her arms move and stay in position as they should. She comes in the box pictured which is worn and was hand marked for a pony tail Jill.
Jill is shown wearing her tagged 1958 Red & White Polka Dot Pajamas (Outfit #3340), that also come with their box, and her sought after coordinating robe also in red and white with a kerchief or scarf design. The robe was numbered #3305 and is also tagged. The pajamas and her robe are like new-- in Very Excellent Condition, the robe box is also Excellent. She has her Vogue tagged Black Leotard, and maybe best of all her Pink and White Polka Dot Sundress (#7401) which matches her sisters Ginnette and Ginny dresses. You may wish to see Ginnette also in this shop wearing her matching dress (photo of both dolls in their dresses are included here.) Jill has a pink net purse (I believe) that is original. She has a brochure (from the pajama box) and tag that came with her (unknown if original) that are great for display. White slip on shoes (not original) help Jill stand alone.
Overall Jill and her fashion outfits are Excellent! Jill is pictured in the Vogue Collector's Encyclopedia on page 216 in her black leotard and also the pajamas and robe. She is shown in her pink dress on page 244. She is living in a non-smoking home.
The Ginnette Doll shown here has sold but others are listed separately and available. Currently there is another Ginnette available with a matching pink dotted dress.
