Vintage Early to Mid-Century Taffeta & Lace Wedding Gown (Small Size)
In a lovely candle light or egg shell color, this taffeta Bridal gown with an organdy and lace overlay has a sheer high neck collar. The long sleeves are gathered, and puffed with wide cuffs, and 6 covered buttons, and loops. The detailed lace work is primarily limited to the bodice with then tasteful "high lights" of lace; like the vertical row down the front of the dress, a band of lace on either sleeve, and a scalloped row at the neckline. The taffeta skirt has the organdy overlay. The upper portion of the sheer bodice, and the sleeves, are layers of fine, soft and delicate netting. The dress appears to have been sewn by a very talented seamstress--not factory made. It is in very nice condition. There are a few tiny holes in the delicate netting of the sleeves, two tiny holes in the skirt overlay, and one small, very light brown, spot that is less than 1/4." Everything else appears to be Excellent. There are 43 covered buttons and loops which close the back. The dress measures 53" from the shoulder seam to the hem. The waist is 26" and the bust 30."
