For the little girl...or adult "little girl" on your Christmas list!
In the late 1950's, Vogue added another baby doll to their family and this one was considered to be their popular Ginny when she was still a baby. "Ginny Baby" was first produced in 1959 and then her look evolved over the next few years. These dolls primarily came with rooted hair and by the 1960's they most often came with this bob hair style.
Ginny Baby was marked differently over the years. The 16" dolls marked on their back as "Vogue Doll" (like this doll) instead of Vogue Dolls, INC seem to have been manufactured in 1961 according to the Vogue Dolls Encyclopedia (Izen & Stover) page 288. In 1961; Ginny Baby was produced in this 16" size as well as 12", 18", and 20" there was no 8" until 1962.) Ginny Baby is also marked on the back of her head / neck though the wording is very difficult to make out.
Ginny Baby has lovely rosy facial coloring and sparkling brown sleep eyes. Her rooted hair has thinned out some but remains in the very cute bob style. She and her red velvet, lace trimmed, dress are in Excellent Condition! She comes with lace trimmed socks and new white patent leather shoes, that are a tad too big giving her feet room to grow. Ginny Baby's dress has a lace trimmed white underskirt that carries the Vogue Doll's tag.
The red wooden doll chair is not original to this doll but she has become accustomed to it so it will be included. Ginny Baby lives with other members of the Vogue Doll family in a smoke free environment and is free of odors.
